This website is for enthusiasts and owners (past, present or future) of all derivatives of the 903cc Z1, the 746cc Z2 and the 1015cc (K)Z1000.
To save repeating all the above derivatives on this page, I will refer to all of them as the Z.
Some of you reading this have great knowledge about the Z
…and I would appreciate your help in the form of information and photographs to help other readers benefit from the site.
Information
I am looking for any historical and/or technical information you feel can be added to the existing text for all models on this website… especially information that will be useful to anyone restoring a Z.
Please send information in the main text of your email or as a MS Word or Open Office attachment.
Your information may be anything from one sentence to a full article.
Full articles will be acknowledged with the statement…
“Article by Name – Date”
If your information is only one or a few sentences, rather than acknowledging individual sections of information, there will be a separate section at the bottom of the page with the statement…
“I am grateful to the following people who have provided information on this page.” …or I may decide to acknowledge all contributors to the site on a separate page.
Photographs
Initially, I am looking for photographs of standard specification Zs only.
I will be looking for photographs of customised and special build Z based motorcycles later.
There are some great pictures on the internet that would be suitable but many are subject to copyright.
In some cases, I have tried (or will try) to contact the copyright owner …but I do not always receive an answer.
Therefore, I would be grateful if any of you could help by sharing photographs you have taken yourself… or photographs taken by someone you know who has given permission to use their photographs.
I will acknowledge the photographer and/or copyright owner if requested.
I have made a start on some of the photographs (in particular, the Z1 page).
I am looking for similar pictures that will cover the differences between the various models.
For example…
The whole motorcycle from the right side and the left side.
Front and rear shots.
Front and rear three quarter shots.
Close ups of:
…any parts that show the colour schemes and badges in detail.
…instrument consoles with minimal reflection.
…any other parts you think will be useful to others readers.
Please send photographs in jpg format if possible.
I am grateful for all photographs sent in but cannot guarantee all of them will be used.
I reserve the right to crop or resize photographs.
If you can help with photographs and/or information, please send an email with the subject line “Z1 website”.
